I read the previous thread, my problem is whilst giving my Tdi some hard overtaking throttle the motor died. The timing belt is intact. motor spins over but wont start, there is diesel at the pump. This has happened before but if i backed out the throttle the car picked up again. Note this has only been happening since installing a bully dog programer!! I know I know but is there something valve or otherwise thats shutting down the motor due to over fueling? Can it be stuck in shut down mode? 1999 vw bug.
any ideas ?

Generally, buying bully dog programmer wasn´t the clever one idea I think. There are some issues why not to buy it. Better is real chiptunning with setting the values for your engine personally than gettin something between engine control unit and injection. Did you got it scanned by VAG or any other stuff? I would start there to see what´s going about.

Yes got it scanned and no codes? I am going to disable the programer to see what effect that has.

Well, if no fault codes in computer, I think the only thing is possible. The programmer is sh** and it´s needed to be thrown away. Or just returned back ;-).

I am sorry for that. But I think that doing a serious chiptunning doesn´t mean just only adding more fuel. It also works with turbocharger. I wish you good luck.

Sounds like a timing belt issue to me. Just because the timing belt is intact doesn't mean it didnt slip time. How tight is it? It should be tight as a drum.

When was the TB done and by whom?

The belt is probually old the car has over 250,000 miles on it. Before i waste any body's time.....today i decided to find out what was wrong! This is wot i found. A small amount of starting fluid the car runs just. From there i found fuel filter not full? from there i pulled vacum from tank. Well it turns out after i took the fuel start stop solenoid out the pump car starts right up rev it twice shuts down take out stop start agian all is well.....i have me thinks a bad stop start valve solenoid. its letting go and shutting everything down. Problem is dont know where to order one from besides the stealer ship any ideas? AND YES I ALREADY HAVE A CAM BELT KIT ready to go as soon as i get the solenoid fixed.
