Default 2003 not starting

It would seem unlikely that I ran the bug dry just as I pulled into the garage and turned off the key but, that's what I figured happened. I added about a gallon fresh from the station and the car has declined to start.

A call to the shop that I usually patron offered the suggestion that I remove one of the hoses from the filter and see if I'm getting fuel there. I was able to get the hose that comes from the rear of the car off but, never witnessed any fuel coming from it. I did crank it with this hose loose.
Didn't see any evidence that fuel was exiting this hose so I replaced it and called them back.

Ideas like (fuel pump relay) and (stop shutter) valve were relayed. Doubts that I'd lost my prime. Doubts that I'd ran dry the very instant I made it home. My questions after reading a while now:

Does the 2003 have a fuel pump relay? if so, where is it located? or is there one for the
injection pump? have I needlessly put air in my system by cranking with a disconnected hose? And what other possibilities are there for not starting? Good battery is turning car over just fine. Though, I have had to recharge the battery a couple of times due to my persistence.

I thank the gurus in advance.

Tom

No fuel pump in a 2003, that is handled mechanically via the IP. Whether it was the original cause or not you have to prime the fuel system now and possibly crack the injector line nuts to bleed them of the air that you introduced to the system.

Once you get it primed there are a number of other possibilities. Start by taking a look here:
