Default Need help no book so what does this light mean?!?!



I don't have a owners Manuel for my 05 beetle tdi. Can someone look up this light and tell me what it is.

brake pad indicator light.

Means you probably need new front brakes...check 'em out.

If they are ok, check the sensor connections. Might be lose or have a short.

Yep it needs brakes I was gonna do it this weekend. That brings me to my next question. I have changed brakes many times on lots of vehicles. Does my bug reguire any special tools to do a brake job?

Yeah, a special tool that turns the pistons while pushing them in at the same time. I don't know what the exact name of it is. I think Harbor Freight sells them or you might be able to rent them from like AutoZone or something....

only on the backs, the fronts you can use a c-clamp, pad spreader or whatever it is you feel like using. my favorite is some bfc's (big f'ing channellocks).

this light came on my dash after the coil install....

checked the connections when i cranked em down yesterday and still on....

idk.. maybe i need pads...?? crazy it would come up all of a sudden after sitting up on jack stands all day, isn't it?

the connector may still be connected but that doesn't mean the wires inside the loom are... pull the connector and check the wires..
