Default 5 speed swap parts

OK my diesel folks. I'm in a bit of a time crunch here. I'm due to have my autotragic swapped out this weekend (June 5th). Still needing a few parts. I need the engine tin...starter with bolts...and the wiring that connects to the back up lights from the tranny or something like that. Plus I need a hydraulic line to the clutch slave. If you have any or all these parts readily available and ready to ship....I'd even be willing to pay express shipping because I really need it here by Friday afternoon cause I'm heading up to Asheville, NC Friday night to get a jump start on the project. I appreciate any and all the help!!!!

The only TDI specific parts you listed are the starter and (maybe) the dust tins. The slave line and reverse light stuff is universal across all engines and Jetta/Golf models with the 5 speed 02J.

Here are a couple part numbers so you can order from the dealer if nothing else:
Transmission dust cover plate (manual) 02A 301 157 C
Engine dust cover plate (manual) 06a 103 645
Rev switch connector 1J0 973 702
You'll need 2 each of the following for the line connecting the master cylinder to the slave cylinder:
Small Clip on Master cylinder - 7M0 721 431
O ring for master cylinder - 02F 141 143 A

Good luck with it. Jim knows his stuff and he'll take care of you right. Which clutch did you going to end up going with? Funny thing is, it looks like you're going to get your trans swapped before I get mine done. I will probably be starting sometime next week, though it should have been done ages ago because I haven't had reverse gear for close to 4 months.

Wow! I still have all gears, but they are just terrible. Almost got hit the other day because I forgot the tranny was acting up and tried to manuever into traffic...of course the tranny didn't want to shift! thankfully the other driver was quick on his feet and moved! THANK GOD! Sitting in reverse kinda sucks...especially when people are waiting for your spot! lol I think I'm about to lose 4th as well, highway driving is getting harder. Nothing like 3rpm at 65-70mph. I have to slow down to about 55mph, then just floor it...hope it doesn't redline...then sometimes it'll shift into 4th and I'm golden...other times...it's back to third.

Is it normally to increase speed slowly while the tach loses RPMs?? Sometimes a feel a whole "disconnect" in the car. Like the engine and tranny aren't talking to each other anymore. No matter how hard you step on it,...it just doesn't go...or doesn't go well. Then it gives a floaty feeling in the steering too...it's just weird. Like an out of body experience!!!

Thanks for the numbers. Hopefully if nothing else I can order the parts. I really don't want to order the starter though...that thing is EXPENSIVE! I was stunned to see that price. Sticker shock can kill you I swear!!!!

I think I'm getting a stage II clutch and single flywheel. I know a guy here in Atlanta who's got one, he ordered from Aaron (boraparts) and said it was almost $600 so I'm guessing it's a stage II. He wants my auto to see if he can find a way to "fix" it and solve this autotragic issue...so we're working that into the sale price!

But looks like our trannys will be about the same. My tranny has a short shifter in it already Not really sure what that means since I've only driven a clutch once in my life and it was a really old Ford, but I"m sure I'll enjoy it! haha Besides, this leaves LOTS of room for mods. First thing to go after I recoupe from this cost.....EGR! Then maybe get even bigger nozzles. Currently running some from a stock manual with my larger automatic fuel pump So I got a little going on there! Then maybe an RC tune....RC3 seems to be the popular one....Can't wait.

Well, I'm trying to make it easier for ya hun. If worse comes to worse, I may have to beg for time off to come up myself and pull the parts. Not trying to rush you. I know your busy and all. But like I said, if I can't find the parts, I'll have to beg for some time off and come get them! And I will too.
