Default Battery light on, but no problems

Driving down the road and the battery symbol in my display comes on and stays on. But I have not noticed any problems.
Next day, light still on.

Check the aux drivebelt (extreme right side of the engine when viewed from the drivers seat), does the power steering seem OK?

You should get the charging circuit checked, your battery may not be geting any charge in which case, eventually (how eventually depends on your electrical usage), she will fail to start or stop when running as the engine electronics donīt have enough power coming from the battery.

To check you need a voltmeter, put it across the battery terminals, you should see approx 12.5V engine off, 14.5V engine on. You may have a lower voltage engine off if you arenīt getting any charge.

Either the altenator is toast or there is a wiring/connection issue between the altenator and the car.

The batt is also getting discharged so you need to get it fixed, trickle charging from a mains charger will give you some daylight driving time to drive it to a shop, donīt try driving at night as the lights will discharge you in no time.

The voltage is lower engine on because of the electrical load on the battery.

Good luck!

You should have around 14.0V with engine running.
