Default Nuts

In 10 years of oil changes, I have managed to lose 2 of the 3 nuts that hold the engine cover on. I imagine I can get them at Home Depot. Does anyone know what thread size and pitch they are? Or is there a VW part #? While I'm at it, I might replace the long-gone plastic nut-hole covers tabs too. ( Yeah, yeah, nut hole covers. Well, what would you call them?)

Probably an M6x1.25 or M8x1.25. Take one of the other ones in with you to compare or to put on a bolt to make sure.

I ditched my engine cover long ago.

You are correct thanks! Only reason I keep my cover on is for quicker warmup, especially after the car's been sitting in sub-freezing temps.
