Default Airbag light

What can be the issue when the airbag light comes on and menacingly shines steadily bright for the duration of the trip and there after?

Has anyone else experience this issue? and if so, what are the steps you took to alleviate said issue?

*I thank everyone for there valuable feedback and post more info. as I learn more.

You need to find someone with a vagcom cable to read the code. The airbag light won't reset itself, you need to clear it with the vagcom after the fault is fixed.

Ditto. Most likely culprit will be the wiring in the seatbelt buckle.

Sorry it took me so long to respond; where would I find someone with a Vagcom cable? Advance Autozone and Checker O'Riley don't seem to have it. (Maybe I'm not asking the right person the right question) On the other hand, got an issue with a clicking sound that activates once I turn the key to the accessory slot and continues while the engine runs, however it stops one I turn on the right or left turn signals.

Those places don't carry VagCom. They carry regular generic code readers for engine codes. VagCom is the full blown version that checks EVERYTHING in ANY Vw/Audi car, from engine performance to voltage in tail lights.

You can buy a dumbed down one that i did [link in signature] for $60 and it also reads regular check engine lights as well. Works great too! But it also reads the air bag light codes to tell you whats wrong and has the power to reset it as well.

If you dont want to wait, you're gonna have to take it to a Vw dealership (not recommended) or a Vw specialized mechanic/shop. If you need help finding one of those, that is also a link in my signature.

Good luck!

You buy one...the real deal...

Don't biotch about the price either, its very cheap for all that it can do. It can pay for itself by not visiting the dealer one time.

I am not biotech-ing about the price. I just recently lost my f/t job and got an extremely p/t job of 15-20hrs at $7/hr.
I have some savings built up and 4 credit cards with low balances on each. I am just weary of purchasing anything online with hackers and fake web-sites on the world wide web, however, I keep a written record of everything I use for credit, dates and which stores,so that's not an issue.

And what is "Biotech" any way? Life technology?

Try unplugging and replugging the connections under the seats. Contact someone with a VagCom to clear the code and hope it stays gone. TDIClub has a list of VagCom owners in your area.
