Default At what point do radiator fans kick on?

Just wondering... I've actually never seen or heard my radiator fans come on in my 2005 VW New Beetle TDI. I've been driving around then park and look under the hood and the fans are not going... I don't have any problems but just curious as to why the fans aren't on... I've checked the fuses and nothing is blown...

Maybe the motor just runs cool enough here in Southern Cali that it doesn't need them??

As I have been told, these cooling systems could cool a 747. It is a joke of course but gives you an idea of how much these cool. Depending on the weather outside and all, it might just not be enough to have them kick on. During these winter months, not sure if it will help but they had a writeup somewhere telling you how to check your fans. As I said, not sure if weather is going to effect this process but with your car running, turn your heater on cold, full power, and the A/C button ON. Pop the hood and check to see if your fans are running. As I said though, weather might change that. Good luck.
