Default Cruise Control suddenly not working.

Hello all... A new (very minor) issue has come up. My cruise control stopped working.... Yes I checked the brake lights. The switch recall did not affect my model year. So... Any thoughts? Where would one start looking? Is it a fairly easy fix, or should I take it somewhere? I'm leaving for a 3000+ mile road trip in less than a month and I refuse to make it without cruise.

Hopefully yours is an easy fix. I had this problem (or what I thought was a cruise control problem) a couple years ago. I turn off the engine and restart it, cruise works again. After a few more months it couldn't maintain the speed I had it set at. More problems with loss of power, with or w/o cruise....and my mechanic has determined it's the turbo (no it's not the MAF, fuel pump, N75 valve, etc, etc). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

My cruise control kit quit working, but so did my brake lights at the same time. I went to the dealer for the part. Found out it was covered by recall. They wanted to schedule a time to put it in, but my wife needed the car that night so I couldn't wait.
