DO NOT send it to Hans Diesel, a.k.a Prothe. His pumps are junk, as are his rebuilds.

Not sure about TDI pumps, as I'm more in the older IDI diesel scene, but I'm sure someone can let you know.

Is the pump leaking? From where? Might be an easy seal to change and not need an actual rebuild.

DFIS in Portland is the only place to send it. Make sure you have the correct lockdown tools to get the timing belt back in place right. If the belt will need changing anytime soon, this would be a good time to replace it along with the water pump, tensioner, 3 rollers and new stretch bolts.

BTW, what are the symptoms that make you think it needs rebuilding?

Default rebuild

well its making a bad lil knocking noise and last time i had it out it had been losing power.....had the codes come up on it after several reads on and the way it acts id why i feel its the pump.
It would lose power before it started knocking trying to go up a hill it just got a lil worse in time. like i said last time i took it out about three months ago...I left and was doing as usual then it lost about all power turned around and came home opened the hood and the pump was clattering loud and didnt want to idle right. It sounded like it was running on two cylinders,,...
It sounded louder than this YouTube vid YouTube - ‪Tdi engine noise‬‏

It had been giving me problems way before this as i had just pick it up from a friend.....seemed like it didnt want to climb a small hill. Lost power going up. on flat ground no problem but i drive 60 to 65 any how. It was throwing a code which i cant remember now....seems it had something to do with the limp mode....
Thx to all!!

dieselgeek sells a resealing gasket kit...as for internal rebuild not sure. Listen to dzlbug if it is the pump send it to portland. Don't go with prothe. I actually had already ordered from my pump from prothe when I started posting here on the forums. no problems and its been in for almost 10k now. But it's not worth the risk from him, way too many people have problems with his pumps. Hopefully I'm just one of the lucky ones. knock on wood. Just my 2cents.

BTW: don't know if any of these links could be of some help. They all pertain to my IP problems...not glow plugs like two say, but if you need GP help its there too, I just had a few bad things at once haha...anyways here ya go
