Turbo shut-off.
When I drive, the turbo shuts off if I reach certain speeds. It is at 55 in 3rd gear, 65ish in 4th, etc. I can turn off the key and then restart the car it works again. Does this sound like a waste gate issue, or is there something in the factory programming that does this for economy? 2000 Beetle 1.9 TDI with 176,000 miles. It is not a major inconvenience, but could be if I were in heavy traffic. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
