Fuel additive question.
I know this may sound out there, but my step-father was told by someone years ago to run a quart oftransmission fluid through his diesel every now and again. I don't know how often, but I think he did and he got 281,000 miles on the Cummins before totalling the truck. Does this sound reasonable, or is this way out there?

I'm no expert on diesel engines but the fellow who works on the diesel trucks where I work recommends it. We add a quart of tranny fluid with every 3rd tank of fuel.

No no no...and no!
Might be fine on an old Cummins, but the TDI is a different animal. I run Powerservice exclusively, that is all you need. Silver bottle in the summer, white bottle in the winter. Sent from my DROID2
