Default Steering Wheel Spoke - How-To

How-To by Hestersu & animex

(Hestersu)

Take a small flat blade screw driver and gently pry the back side of the spokes off. You need to use gentle force. You are going to break a melt weld that holds the 2 pieces together.

Slide the blade as far you can and gently pry apart. The weld will break. Once its broken, the 2 pieces should separate. If one piece comes off but the other one doesn't, use a Dremel tool to grind down an pieces in your way so that the remaining piece will come off.

Tools:
1. Kilz Original Primer (Home Depot)
2. Krylon Silver (Metalic Spray Paint No. 1406)
3. Krylon Triple-Thick Crystal Glaze No. 0500
4. Grit Sander 400

Total cost: Less Than CAD$30

Steps:
1. Sand spokes
2. Apply thin primer twice (re-sand after first one to smoothen the surface then give at least 15mins before applying 2nd primer)
3. After at least an hour, you can then apply any color paint you like
4. 2hrs later, I put the first clear coat on, let it dried then apply second coat and third/last. This gives spokes smooth, shiny, and long paint protection on.
5. No glue needed to put them back on.
