All the GLX meant was that you got all the options included except for the larger 17" wheels. What you got depended on the MY. For instance, I have a 2001.5 GLX, which promised a Monsoon system, rain-sensing wipers and a self-dimming mirror. However, those parts were still unavailable for US-bound NBs so I didn't get them (and the price was dropped below what I had expected to pay because of it). Part of me wishes they told me this beforehand; then I'd've told them to just put the 17" wheels in to compensate.

The Sport was a special edition. Performance wise, nothing special except maybe the sport springs, which didn't really drop the height (much?) but were a bit stiffer. Beyond that, the differences are in style: Unique paint color, Recaro seats with color-matched stitching, steering wheel and shift knob with same color-matched stitching, different wheels and a Sport badge were pretty much the big difference between it and a 1.8T GLS. The rest, which were standard on a GLX, were optional on a Sport. Also, I don't think there was an automatic tranny Sport, but I'm not sure about that.
