A friend's '98 had a similar problem - it would shut down while driving or coasting to a stop. It would start right up as soon as they pulled over. Dealer couldn't find a problem after numerous visits - until the tech hooked up the laptop computer and took it for a ride. Luckily it happened while he was driving around. Turned out that the radio was faulty. Dealership replaced the radio and there have been no problems since.
