Dip stick tube

Gosh, what was VW thinking making that cheap plastic dip stick tube using plastic that gets brittle and breaks? Anyway, I replaced mine today but a little bit of the old plastic tube chipped off and fell into the oil tube. I will change the oil before I start it again but should it be OK? Will the plastic just come out with the old oil?

I'd put it up on ramps, to tilt it back a little. If it doesn't come out with the oil, rinse the pan with diesel fuel. This will also clean out the sludge in the bottom of the pan. If your afraid to pour it through the motor, use a small hose and a funnel, and put it in through the dip stick tube.
