Default Please diagnose this!!!

I have a 2000 GL with 121,000 miles on it. The problem is that for about a couple of months now the engines hesitates at cold start up and accelerating in between shifting after it warms up it seems to run fine until you come to a stop and accelerate again it will hesitate out of first or in stop and go traffic it will hesitate at times between shifts.

I did find when giving the engine a look over that the hose from the manifold to the fuel pressure regulator was rotted away at the manifold end and that the hose from the air filter housing to the secondary air pump was disconnected, and I thought that may be the problem. I replaced the regulator hose and connected the air pump hose and it still has hesitation. Do you think debris, dust or whatever could have damaged the fuel pressure regulator since the hose was open at one end probably for some time??

So i will do the process of elimination and change the fuel filter (which never has been changed) the spark plugs (which do you recommend) and see what happens, oh btw the cel has been on , i haven't checked the code yet.....any similar problems and what was the fix??????????????? thanks for your help!!

yes if the fule filter has never been changed then yes do that and same for the plugs and wires if they have never been changed. it is my assumption that you have done the timing belt and water pump too? and yes get that CEL checked.
