Default Both Engine Fans wont turn off - Flat Battery !

Both Engine Fans wont turn off resulting in a Flat Battery !
  • I can disconnect the negative terminal on the battery to stop them running -
  • then re-connect the negative terminal a few seconds later & its OK - they still dont run.
  • even starting the engine again doesnt have them running.
  • but as soon as I go on a run & the engine is hot enough for the fans to run, they cut in & wont turn off.

now I took the car into the garage today & they replaced a sensor (thermostat or some such) but still it is doing the same thing.

HELP

Bad thermoswitch usually causes this. However, you replaced it so I might 2nd KC about the relay(FCU). Actually, this happened to me couple years ago. Both fans kept running and drained the battery. Turn out to be bad fans that caused FCU to get stuck. I replaced both fans and FCU(just in case) and kiss it goodbye.
