You need a socket (13mm I think) and a long extension or combo of extensions to get down to it. It's tight quarters, but not too bad of a job. Make sure you put it back in on your new battery!

you also need a 10mm socket/extension to remove the power steering reservoir from its mount. it is in the way directly ro the left of the battery. once those two are loose, and the cables are disconnected, the battery pulls out to the left a little then you can tilt it up and out of the way.

reinstall the new battery the same way. tilt in, then slide over then bolt down. reattach the power steering reservoir and reattach the battery cables.

if you are feeling frisky you could remove the 3 bolts under the battery to remove the tray and clean up the grounds that are under there too. this is of course after you remove the old battery and before you install the new one.

good luck!

There are a couple How-To's in the Technical How-To section if you need images and stuff.

Oh yeah

Thanks. I forgot about that part. Last one I changed was in a Jetta and the reservoir is elsewhere.
