Im throwing no CEL, but still pulled these codes out of a ill-running 2000 2.0 beetle. Its slower then normal and getting crappy mileage..
Checked stock filter, its clean, noticed that someone drilled holes in the lower right half of the air-box.. No biggie, just more intake whoosh.. Changed out the belt, and belt-tensioner (B.T's bearing was bad).. I pulled these codes out of it, no CEL but still pulled these codes.. P0102- Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input P0112- Intake Air Temp.Circ Low Input Now, if this is the same as my TDI jetta, the codes listed above are directly related to a bad MAFS (Mass air flow sensor) , am I wrong? I know that they are crappy... I unplugged the sensor, and it definetly picked up in speed.. I think its out.. I also noticed that the actual plug (Male side) the inside of it, which is red, is partially missing, is that going to be ok? This is my wifes car, we bought it with 13k on it, 2 years ago, and now it has 38k on it.. Anything else I should be worried about? Thank you -Jordan

Sounds like the MAF.
It's an easy change out if it is. Any other thoughts anyone?
