Default Brake Light and ABS Light

Ok, so last night we had a bad snow storm in Northern Ohio. I was driving home in really high snow and my tires were spinning like crazy because it was so slippery outside. When I was driving home at one point my ABS light came on and the Brake light was flashing. I have no idea what this means. I let my car sit all night in my driveway. I started my car this morning to see if any lights would come on and my ABS light was still on. I don't think it's anything to worry about but I'm not really sure. Anyone have any ideas?????

the same thing happened to me last night! it's not what you want to hear when you're slipping and sliding, huh? we pulled out the vagcom and scanned it and the code for the rear wheel speed sensor came up. i'm hoping it's just all the snow and gunk in there. i'm driving it to work tomorrow and i'll let you know if anything else happens to it <fingers crossed>

oh, if you want to, we can meet up somewhere(i live in Parma) and have your car scanned with the vagcom.

I recall some threads like this a few years ago on the old forum .... If I recall it was snow and other frozen stuff clogging the wheel speed sensors ... it may not go away until it melts out, or it may also have damaged a wheel sensor.

I concur. The codes that came back on boodah's car were for both rear sensors (intermittent). Snow was pretty deep on the street as it hadn't been plowed. All is well again.
