Exclamation Limp Mode

Hey VW Enthusiasts!

The other day I posted on here and I was talking about how my friend and I just did the breaks and we disconnected the negative on the battery to reset the computer. Ever since then I have been in limp mode.

My question is this: If i replace the oxygen sensors and try to clean the MAF, should I disconnect the negative and let it sit for a while before I reconnect it?

Or will that just cause me more grief?

well I just bought the rear 02 sensor yesterday $149.95 for it so I would get it scanned first because if they wernt bad when you started doing the brakes they probably arnt bad now. I don't know how much the front 02 sensor is but I heard its more than the back one.

Never disconnect the battery, it's very unnecessary.

A few cycles of driving should be plenty of time for the ecu to run any checks it needs to.

The codes will eventually go away if you get a problem.

Thanks guys.

I'm getting some major arcing in the number 2 cylinder spark plug wire.

I think it could be the wires or the coil packs.

We replaced both o2 sensors. They needed to be the old ones were filthy.

Well, off to the parts store, again!
