Default anyone?

my car has been showing the code,p1228 for about two months now,After replacing the maf ,about a week ago the code did not clear,today after my lunch break at work a;; the sudden the check engine erases.Does anyone have any clue to what did might be related to? please help!

I do know that the Check Engine light will go off after afew startups. It is possible it won't be back, if you fixed the issue.

Yes...once the car throws a CEL and the issue is resolved, if the light is not cleared manually and everything is still working right, the CEL will clear itself after a few good starts. Not to say it couldn't come back.

ever since i had the cel it has never erased,so now that i changed the maf and it erased im praying that this has solved the problem.

Good info to have...I've always cleared codes via VAG-COM.

But if I don't have one around and fix something, I'll give it a few start-ups to clear!

or else reset your whole thing but removin batt terminal for 15 min to clear everything.. sometimes it just take a while for the stuff to read, u will be alright.. Shoots
