Default a/c compressor/belt

So, I'm getting my compressor replaced because the one i have in my car is broken. I bought a new compressor and I'm taking it to a local shop to do the work...As I was browsing around, I came across this: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/pts/346600361.html

Is that the right belt that I need?
Does any1 know how much it costs from the dealer?

Any help would be appreciated !

EDIT: GOT THE RIGHT ONES FROM DEALER FOR 45 BUCKS !=]

Nah, totally not worth getting it in from Boston. Is your car a 1.8T? If not there's no chance it'll work, but where it's from a Passat and their motors are mounted transversely, so even if you have a 1.8T it might not fit.

Just get the part for the dealer, your car is supposed to have a double-sided one anyway.

One thing you need to learn about VW's is that if you start nickel and diming on the repairs your car's reliability will suffer. Fix it right, fix it once as they always say.

They'll know what you need. It's just a serpentine belt, I don't think there's a special name for it and the motor only has one. The main difference is that the stock one has grooves on both sides, a normal one only has grooves on one side.

If your car runs but your AC doesn't the belt isn't the solution.

Yeah, your AC system is the problem. Your belt is fine. Have a shop look at it.

Edit: I totally missed the compressor part, sorry, I'm an idiot. :P

The 2.0 uses only one serpentine belt to run everything. If it's running ok, it's the AC...not the belt.

I missed her point at first too, but actually reading the thread is never a bad plan.

Yeah it's only one belt that drives all the accessories including the A/C compressor, I got mine from Germanautoparts.com including water pump and belt tensioner. If your over 80K i highly recommend doing all of it.
Where did you get ur A/C compressor, i got mine from Worldimpex, cost me a a little, nothing like brand new unit, Ice cold baby !

Cheers!

i got my compressor for discountacparts.com or something like that..i cant remember...So to keep the warranty on that, theres a seal I need replaced...Anyone know what that is or part number or a picture of it? I need clues ! I called the stealer they said theres two seals for that compressor...one is about 5 bucks, the other one is about 200 bucks...i need to figure out what i need..i guess its a bit of a pain to hv to get my own parts, but if i were not to, id be spending 3 times more than I am..at least I learn something in the process..
