Default Bad MAF how bad can it be???

hi folks got the dreaded maf code and lean gas code... i wanted to find out is this going to just give me bad gas mileage or am i in danger of screwing up my car by running like this on the highway?

Well, it depends. How's that for an answer? If you drive over 75 like most folks in Florida, then you will end up with poor fuel mileage, poor performance, and a lean burn condition.
Try using the CRC MAF cleaner to clean the MAF. It might come back to life.

I actually tried that a few weeks ago to no avail. Dealer wanted to charge me $400 to install one. does anybody have the part number i am having problems finding it on 1stvw.
