Default Timing Belt PLASTIC COVER ???

Does anyone know where to get a new cover piece for the passenger side engine compartment? I believe it would be referred to as the "timing belt cover" It is held on by these metal clips. Mine is broke in a few places and is old rotting plastic. I would prefer to get a shiny new metal one! But I see no one selling these at all....

Thanks

jeremy

Never heard of anyone selling a metal one.

You could get a new cover at the dealership, from germanautoparts.com, from 1stvwparts.com, from worldimpex.com, or you could get a used one from a junk yard, or from a forum where someone's parting out a 2.0.

Yea looks like 1stvwparts.com has the part, but which one is it? I don't know, as there are no pictures "Outer timing cvr / Center / Lower / Upper" I am going to assume I want the Upper one, cause that is the one I can see. I don't recall seeing any other covers down below. But junk yard is out of the question, because they will just be in the same shape mine is in, after 10 years, plastic next to an engine tends to root and break. Just discovered them the hard way, with a completely rotted and crumbled apart dip stick tube...make these parts metal! They will last longer...

thanks for the tips though, I wasn't having any luck on searches as they were all just coming up with timing belt kits and such.
