Transaxle noise when turning left
Hello Everyone!
I'm new here, just bought my '03 Beetle 4 weeks ago. I could'nt be happier, she is a riot to drive and does great on gas 25/35. 2.0 gas with 5-speed manual. I do have a question, the transaxle seems to make a more pronounced whine when the car is turning sharply to the left (in first gear). Is this something anyone else has experienced?  Bob

This is a known problem. VW issued a TSB a while back covering this. The simple fix is to change the oil in the transmission.
