Default What jobs can I combine?

The drivers side CV joint is out, what can be combined in that job? I would love to replace 2-3 things at once and not have to worry about taking the same thing back apart to do another job, or paying labor twice. With 140k miles, and a 19 year old as her previous owner, I can almost promise that most maintenance HAS NOT been the greatest, if done at all!

Brake lines, ball joint, tie rod ends, and control arm bushings for a few. Not that much harder from there to upgrade the dogbone mount with urethane bushings like from Autotech. Depending how far you want to go, strut, spring, wheel bearings, brake pads, rotors just for a few things on the maintenance side.

Okay, so I'm only doing the drivers side. Common sense tells me that stuff like struts, shocks etc, needs to be done on both sides at the same time, right?

Thanks. Would be best to go ahead and replace both axles? I "think" I'm getting a pretty good deal, $120 per axle.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Preventitive maintenance I suppose. I can't say I've worn out an axle, but if you've got one down to that point, maybe another wouldn't hurt just to be sure.

I'd do a visual inspection on all those parts NBTurboFreak mentioned. Maybe even before your appt. so that you can have the bushings in hand when the time comes?

I have blown 4 passenger side axels and only 1 driver's side. I am hoping to get the Bildon axels by the end of the year, but till then I have 2 extra stock sets in my garage ready to go.

Do as much as you can at once.
Do left and right at the same time or you will end up with steering wheel facing 35 degree left and car going straight or something.
Replace sway bar bushings and end links to smooth the ride.
Full control arms
If not struts and springs, then at least Strut mount bushings and bearings, top and bottom.
Wheel bearings are busted for sure.
Dog bone ( OEM for smooth or polyurethane to keep you awake )

And then there is the rear axle....

how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go?
