Default Flashing blue temp light

Yesterday the blue temp light started flashing. The car is driving fine, but the light stays on as long as the car is running. My thought is that the coolant temp sensor went out, but I'm not entirely sure. If anyone know what causes this feel free to share your advice.

The nearest place to get a code read is 45 miles away.. and I can only get there on Saturday.

Probably low level. Mine was doing that and it only took about 8oz to get it back up and the light stopped.

Might also be one of the lambda probes or a magnetic switch which works somehow with the probes (that little thing was broken at my car - which got me 2 new probes for free^^)...

Thanks for the replies. The fluid level looks ok, but I'll take a closer look in the morning. I just replaced the coolant flange about one and a half months ago, so maybe it does need a tiny bit more fluid.

Is there any way to check the probes visually or will it take a trip to get a code read?

Thanks for the help.
