Default Coolant Filling

Hi all,

I am in the middle of changing my water pump, etc, and I seem to be reading there is a technique for properly replacing all the coolant. I keep reading about "air trapped in the system", overheating, etc.

Can someone share their experiences and/or techniques on this exercise?

Fill, drive around the block 2 times, feel lower cooler hose, give it a squeeze or two, check level fill if necessary, repeat. I could be wrong but that's what it looked like he was doing
