Hello could anyone help me out with this VAG-COM code -
P1152 - Bank 1, Long Term Fuel Trim, Range 2 Leanness Lower Limit Exceeded. I have already checked all of the vac lines and nothing seems to be cracked or not connected correctly. The car seems to running fine and with no problems, could it be the MAF going bad? Does anyone know how to check the MAF? If I reset the light it always comes back in a couple of days. Thanks for any help you guys can give... |

Hi,
I order to throw code, computer need to register same failure many times in a short period of time. What you got there is one code repeating from time to time which means you have constant failure of one part or sensor but only sometimes it's constant enough to trigger cell. My guess is O2 sensor or MAF. Mass Air Flow sensor you can clean ( check this site for more inf on how to clean MAF ) but O2 sensor you have to replace. I would start with Lucas upper cylinder cleaner ( clean injectors ) and then wait and see if any more codes comes up. Good luck |

I took out the MAF and cleaned it over the weekend and seems to have resolved the CEL coming back on for now.
For anyone asking I went to AutoZone and bought a can of the CRC MAF cleaner, to clean the sensor. Thanks for the help. |

I did the same thing today (bought the cleaner for the MAF), after my stealership called me with a $800 estimate to replace it today.. HAHAHAHA! I wish I was kidding. When I told the guy I would take care of it myself, he said "Well you know that even if you replace the part, you will still need us to program it and reset the computer system in your car"... I kid not, these were the exact words. After I stopped laughing, I told him to make sure it was ready when I got there.
Anyway, after I told them they were morons, I went and cleaned the MAF and had the codes cleared at autozone for $0, and so far, the light hasn't re-appeared. Even if it does, I will buy a new MAF online and replace it myself. Not a hard job. DEFINITELY not an $800 job. If it is, I will do it for anyone in here at any time. I'll even travel to you. lol |
