Default Cracked Fog Lights

Both of mine are cracked/broken with pieces missing from being hit by rocks. Is it really a 2-3 hour job at the shop? I have had a couple of mechanics tell me that, but now have someone saying he can do it in 1 hour. I heard that the front of the car has to be removed to get to the fog lamps. Anyone know?

Thanks

If you want it done by the book, then the front end has to come off. If the shop you take it to has never done one before, it could possibly take long.

However the front end does not have to come off if you only screw in the bottom mounting screw and use plastic tie-ties for the top mounting holes. At most it is a thirty minute job using this method. This is what I did on the wife's NB when I replaced the lower grille and both fog lights after she hit a deer.

I replaced the passenger side fog light on my girlfriends 2001 2.0 about a year ago. I don't have jacks so I just drove the passenger side onto a curb so that I could crawl undernieth the car. There is a couple of clips behind the fog lights. It took me less then an hour to do. Also, if you need help changing the head light here is a website you can go to: http://www.midsouthvw.com/TechTips/t...BeeHdlitRR.htm
It took me about twenty minutes to replace.
