Default Additional Gauges for a 2.0 Auto?

I was thinking the other day at how much it bothers me that I don't have actual engine temperature data other than Blue, Off, or Explosion Imminent.

I'm milling over adding one of those temperature gauges to my Bug (2.0 2000 Automatic). Is this a good idea or am I going to be giving off the "ricer" vibe? If not, are there any other gauges I could add?

Does anyone have any advice on the subject?

Thanks a lot!

I too was thinking about this the other day. An no I don't think you'd be giving off the ricer look, as long as you don't by some flashy gauge like auto meter's cobalt series. An opt for mounting it on your steering column with a gauge cup or a steering column pod(not sure if the golf one will fit).

At the risk of sounding dumb, I have to ask. Other than the Water Temp, what would I use the other gauges data for?

I really don't know much about cars or engines, so all this stuff is new to me.

I've also done some research on the boards. I'm considering going with the highly suggested Neuspeed Supercharger for a low-cost boost in power. Should I get a Boost Gauge or is that only for engines with a turbo thingamajig?
