Default Timing Belt Kits w & w/o Tstat

Hi all,

I have done some searches for the Timing Belt change and I am finding some kits that include thermostats and gaskets and others dont. Some kits include Motor Mount Bolts, others dont.

Thus far, ECS Tuning has been the best price/shipping cost.

I was discussing the job with a mechanic and he mentioned that while doing the job I should also replace another part. I think he called it the water outlet, as this was made of plastic as well and was often the root of plastic impeller failure. Does any one have a source for this?

Thanks in advance.

Kyle

That would be the water pump, and yes it should be changed too. Get one with a metal impeller.

Get the ECS deluxe kit with the motor mount bolts and the two bottles of coolant.

I installed one of these kits today for Beej and it was complete and parts were very good.

Same here...

ECS is the best value.

I believe the mechanic is referring to the outlet pipe behind which the T-stat mounts. They are fairly cheap and are prone to crack with aga/heat cycles just like the water pump. Get it from the dealer, they are a cheap part and come w/ a new O-ring already installed--do not overtorque!
