I swapped fuel pump today in a 1998 Beetle.
It was very easy but the gas gauge is measuring incorrectly as I think I may have misaligned it on reinstall. The manual said there would be a small alignment mark on my car's body, but I dont' have one to match up to the alignment mark on my white fuel pump. If I'm looking down the centerline of my car towards the back bumper, what o'clock should the alignment mark be at? (the pump is under the carpet of the back seat) |

The fuel pump alignment arrow (on top of white plastic fuel pump) should be pointed at 6 o'clock, directly down the rear centerline of the car. 1998 Beetle, your mileage may vary. Last edited by Bugab007; 08-13-2009 at 06:38 AM.. |
