Question 98-99 exhaust will not fit a 2000 beetle?!

I found a great deal on Borla stainless cat-back but....can't believe 98-99 2.0 exhaust will not fit a 2000 2.0 beetle. Does anybody know what the difference is?

I don't think there is any. On vw's website, I was looking at NB parts and they were selling the Exhaust tips that connect to the downturn exaust and stick out in the back so you can actually see the exhaust tips. They said this part fits all 1998+ NBs. So my guess is that there is not a difference. But I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah ! .. me too I don't have a video camera but I'll do some vids with my foto camera, if it fits I have been eyeballing Borla cat-back for quite a while but the price was too high for me ( $560 lowest ), plus shipping cost to Ontario, Canada, plus customs... it would probably end up costing me 800 installed. This deal is $200 plus shipping and stuff, brand new, SS BORLA CAT BACK Can't go wrong eh?
Now.. I just need to find that dude that's selling it

My kodak Easyshare takes decent videos. I recorded the Bride-Groom dance, Father-bride dance, and Mother-groom dance at my sisters wedding. Surprisingly, it even captured all the sound and had a good video! I give it a solid B.

Good luck finding said dude! *sends goodluck*

Thanks
Video is not that important for this matter, but I would love to capture the sound better so people can hear the difference between stock and other exhausts. All the before/after exhaust vids on the web are crappy and there is nothing on 2.0 beetle with Borla cat-back.
Oh well... gaining a few ponys and having milion miles warranty will do for me. I'll get used to whatever the note is

thy ONLY difference in the early 2.0 exhausts was a different manifold/downpipe junction, but from the cat-back everything should be the same.

I had one of the first Borla catbacks back in 98 on my 98. It was so nice. I loved it. It should fit the 2000 just like everyone says. Probably would fit up until the switch to the new engine and maybe even those.

The Techtonics exhaust used the Borla system as well - at least the one that I had on my 01 was stamped Borla.
