Help
Been awhile since I've been on here. I have a problem with my daughter's 1998 beetle. Sometimes the car won't start in park, turn the key and everything comes on, lights, radio but not start, nothing. Sometimes if the key is turned off and turned on it will start. The other day after 20 or so on/off cycles it still would not start, put it in neutral and it started. My first thought was the ignition switch or battery cables but they check out good. So now I'm thinking transmission range switch or shift lock solenoid. Does any one have any suggestions or fixed the same problem.
