Put a pint of Marvel Mystery Oil in it; drive it for 1500 more miles and then change the oil. I do this every third oil change and I have not had any valve ticks or rattles.

I use it in my winter car and it quiets the valvetrain noise. It's good stuff but I wouldn't mix it with synthetic oil.

Cool Lucas

Lucas is great. I use Lucas in all of my cars. Especially their fuel injection cleaner. I have worked at Pep Boys, Advance Auto Parts and Autozone part time while serving in the Navy, and I would recommend Lucas to all of my customers.

I just purchased a gallon of Marvel Mystery Oil and it says it can be added to the fuel as well. Has anybody tried this?

why not just use oil....nothing it wrong with your noisy valves. every MK4 2.0 does this and there has never been a problem....i have never added anything to my oil and i dont have your "standard" 2.0. i run 5 or 10w 30 and i use a 270 cam and have never had an issue.

you will never fix the noise....it is just part of the car

dont mean to come off as a hater....there is just no need to add anything to your oil ever.

I just used MMO for the first time today, in both the gas and oil. I can already tell it is making a difference in mileage. I went 148 miles on a 1/4 of a tank. In a few days I will refill the gas tank to see what my final mileage is.
