2003 vw knocking / gas problem
when my car sits idle you hear a knocking/ticking type of sound its not the fans on the radiator, its coming from the belt on the alternator kinda sounds like a compressor not sure, usually when you start the car no matter how warm it is if you let ti sit you hear it very well inside the cab

What exactly do you want to hear...?
 Off the top of my head the parts noted below could, possibly make ticking sounds in addition to the water pump suggested earlier...1) A/C Compressor clutch 2) Alternator Pulley 3) Timing Belt Tensioner 4) Serpentine Tensioner 5) Cylinder Head Valves 6) Cam Bearing 7) Crank Bearing
