Default brake light flashing/abs light on

2000 beetle, auto, loaded, 191k

I pulled the battery to clean the ground point that is under the tray. Now, the ABS light is on and the brake light blinks.

Also, the cruise control no longer works and i can't get the AC compressor to kick in.

what gives? gremlins?

thanks for any help,

So what prompted you to clean the grounding point in the first place?

Off the top of my head...
1) Ignition Switch
2) Convenience/Comfort Control Module
3) ABS Module
4) Brake Sensor
5) Battery Top Casing/Fuses

My guess would bue 5) Battery Top Casing/Fuses. What and how did you clean the battery post terminal. If you used the a liquid, then they it's probably still wet and not getting good contact points. Worse case, you have blown some fuses.

i had popped a couple fuses trying to jumper a sensor to cause the compressor to kick on.. everything works except AC now, which is why i pulled the battery to clean that ground point. read that somewhere online..."clean this ground point...its a source of many gremlins..."

anyway, no AC. no power to the compressor. the haynes advises to short a sensor to kick the compressor in. my sensor (in the alum AC line on the top, on the left in the back) is three prong.

any advice towards trblshooting this ac appreciated.
