Vacuum lines are usually small diameter, flexible hoses that run to and from various components. I'm not sure about a 2.0, but in the case of TDI engines, the vacuum lines are covered in braided black cloth with white stripes. They often come in different sizes, and you should be able to pick up some replacement line in bulk from the dealer or another auto parts store. There may be some specialty vacuum hoses that would be a VW part, the line going to the brake booster for example would be a specialty part rather than just a piece of hose cut-to-fit.

If you want to go through and replace all of your vacuum lines, you can do so. Do it one at a time and cut each new one carefully to length. Be careful when removing the old line. If you are pulling them off a plastic nipple they will often stick and you can break the nipple if you're not careful. Slitting them with a sharp utility knife is helpful, just don't cut too deep or you will slice through the plastic nipple as well.

By the way...what problem are you experiencing that you feel the need to replace them?

I checked the vacuum hose to the back of the combi valve and it appeared to be cracked right where in joins. I assume that, that is the combi valve lol its the round brass colored valve about 2 inched in diameter that sets on top of the exhaust manifold just to the rear of the MAS coupler? Kinda of hard to get to, or should i say very hard to get to!! today i got 4mm silicon hose will this be ok to use???

Is the silicon hose you got meant to be used as vacuum line? It just needs to be firm enough to not collapse and needs to be proper size. If it looks/feels the same as what is on there you will be fine. Give it a whirl.

Can't answer your other question as I'm not familiar enough with the 2.slo engines...sorry mate.
