Default need new MAF sensor

Anyone find any good deals on a new MAF? I have seen a lot of old threads from various forums but the links are not the same anymore. Can someone lead me in the right direction to a good online deal? It doesn't have to be super cheap, just a good part for a reasonable price.. The dealer quoted me $217!

thanks,BB

Try this place( "VW Parts" - "Volkswagen Parts" - Parts and Accessories Catalog. ), for my 98 it shows $155.

Thanks guys. I just ordered one off ebay for $70. I'll let you know how it performs when I get it. The seller was MPG auto, lots of good feedback on the VW as well as other MAF's

Most eBay sellers are selling chinesium knockoffs that are crap. Good luck with your $70 sensor. You get what you pay for.

Here is a genuine Bosch MAF for $105 shipped:
Parts for all water cooled VW cars specializing in TDI models : A4 2.0l GOLF, JETTA, NEW BEETLE MAF SENSOR $105 SHIPPED

Metalman usually has some of the most competitive prices around for GENUINE parts. Plus he's a small business...smaller than ECS and with better service.

Thanks for the response. I would have given them a shot for sure. will bookmark for next time.
Now see, I noticed many sold are specified for AEG at a lower price. My engine was is an AVH and all websites I came across that had those units were more than the AEG specified ones. Is there really that much difference?
As for getting what I paid for, you might be right. If I remember correctly though OEM Bosh units selling for $300+ from the dealer were crap as well and more than likely the reason my "Genuine" MAF is kaput. I do think the price is right for metal man. I'll post a review to this thread when I test it. It will be good information for someone in the future!

I got mine off him too, first one got rid of my p0411 code, but threw 2 new ones,he quickly shipped me a new one after i shipped him the faulty. While waiting for the new one i cleaned the original oem with crc,and the light has not come back.So far so good after about 3 weeks and 500 miles. Will keep the aftermarket for later use.

It arrived! When I opened the box a waft of new car scent came out but after removing everything I found a small white piece of paper that had been soaked in some type of cologne or ait freshener. I guess he was trying to cover up the burnt electronic smell? I put the MAF on and it seems to run better but not exactly correct. I will need to get it back on a VCDS to get a better evaluation. As for visual inspection, the part has German words on the body with the bosch part number as well as an additional part number, the actual sensor is not like the bosch oem- it has a hole on the middle of the sensor plate with a sensor wire of some kind sticking out.
I'll post a further update.
