Default I think overheating problem is FINALLY solved

daughters car overheated 2 weeks ago. My mechanic friend replaced ... Radiator, water pump, timing chain, motor switch, thermostat, temp. sensor, new coolant, new serpentine belt and finally it was suggested on this site to replace the FAN CONTROL MODULE. My daughter drove home last night , some 20 miles without the flashing coolant light coming on. The only other thing that was recommended was that the coolant be VW coolant . My friend just put in the orange type. Someone mentioned that basic coolant could "goo-up" the motor.( I plan to change that on Monday back to VW coolant)
While we were at it, we replaced the front and back rotors and new brakes as well.
All and all ,it was 2 weeks of frustration and headaches.I went 4-5 times to his shop (20 miles away). On 2 occasions, he said the car was fixed just to drive it a couple of miles and have the temp. light come on again !!!! I hope this is a permanent fix.
Thank you guys for being there .. ... I hope !!!!

Hehe, that would have fixed your problem. Flashing coolant light means Low Coolant. Not overheating.
