Default new a/c problem...

well we're on a roll here so let's just keep the a/c questions coming. i thought my a/c problems were fixed but...now my a/c comes in and out of service. it seemed pretty random but now i've got it pegged. when i gun the engine my a/c will decrease significantly in coldness and a moldy smell will emit. the compressor fan is still spinning but the temp gradually changes to a higher temp (pretty warm). then as suddenly as the a/c coldness leaves it comes back gradually (the same process but in reverse).

any thoughts on this would be great!

Why did you start a new thread? I gave you links in your other thread that should help you if you are mechanically inclined. If you aren't, take it to a competent shop and print that information out for them.

Other thread:
A/C Blowing Cold Then Warm, Humid Air...

Check your radiator/condenser fan operation NOW - TDIClub Forums

Link 2:

If you read the first link, it will explain how people don't usually notice a problem until the A/C cuts out (which yours is doing). Your fans probably aren't working correctly.

If they are working correctly, the problem may be somewhere else. Read those links. There are a multitude of failure points and I can't just give you a magical answer based on the info you have provided.

Dunno what that is going to do since I'm a guy.

I wasn't trying to be harsh or anything, I just didn't figure we needed yet ANOTHER A/C thread when you were already directed to all the info you need.

That is all. Good day.

Default a/c problem

Had a poorly cooling a/c recently. There are 2 fans in front of the engine. One is for the radiator and the other is for the a/c condenser. The one for the a/c was not working. The fix is that you have to replace both fans as they come as a combined unit. Be sure both fans are turning when the a/c is turned on.
