Soo the Beetler decides to rot off it's tail pipes, then the Cat breaks loose inside...
$1800 for the exhaust system, or $800 for the converter. Turns out the 98 Beetle 2.0 has it's downpipe from manifold as a single piece into the Cat. Will the exhaust from a Mk3 or Mk4 Golf/Jetta with a 2.0 work on the Beetler? I need to replace the downpipe or full manifold, or the muff shops won't touch it. |

I'm looking, and I'm seeing alot more Mk3 packages that fit what I want. I want to keep the catalytic converter, and most of the mk4 headers delete the cat.
I read that the Mk4 headers from the AEG engines will fit the Mk3 heads, just there are some clearance issues. On the flip side they have the boss for the SAI, which after I rebuilt and reinforced the air pump, I really would like to keep. Keep the birds singing, I say. |
