Angry 2000 Beetle cuts of when hot!

My 2000 VW New Beetle GLS 2.0 will not start after it runs hot. The battery dies and the battery light and oil light flash at me when it cuts off. I went and had my battery and alternater checked and both are fine. The car wouldn't even crank of a jump. Had my oil changed last week and it's filled up to the line. After the car sits and cools, it starts with no hesitation. Whats going on?

Does it turn over? if it doesnt even turn it could be a seizing starter.

Does it die while running and then not start? Or does it not start when it is hot?

If it dies while running, I'd guess ignition coil.

If no hot start, I'd guess starter solenoid.

Good luck!!!

Yes, it turns, just wont crank. When the car is colled off, it will start, then after driving for about 10 min, it cuts off and will not restart until colled off again.

Change the coolant sensor. It still thinks the engine is cold when it's actually hot !!

Not expensive to try. I this doesn't work post again and we'll have another think for you.
