There are 2, one before the cat. and one after, sure you can change them alone but sometimes they require a special tool to get them off if they are stuck which if it would make your life easier for them not to be stuck....they will be stuck....

Check out this tread:
replacing 1999 o2 sensors It's not too difficult but as stb.org states above they can be really, really stuck.

Spray a little PB blaster on it and let it sit for a few, that stuff is great, i have remover exhaust sys bolts from a 95 vehicle that came from Michigan
