Mah car stinks.

I really hope this fixes the problem. If not, I might be looking for a new car. This will be my third attempt to have something done about the smell.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Its good to use the A/C every once in awhile. It keeps the grommets/seals lubricated with PAG Oil, so they dont erode.

I'll have to look at the procedure again for the in cabin air filter. It looked like a bitch to fix.

Maybe I confused myself.
There is a DIY in the FAQ'S Check it out it's easy....

Other issue: rear turn light is out and possible coolant reservoir/radiator leak.

Are you talkin bout the running light on corner of the bumper or the brake\light running light (tailight w signal)? If you or the mech are not sure where the coolant leak is have him do a coolant system presure test. You could look at the coolant level sensor in the coolant resiviour...If it is faulty you will probably see coolant in the Plug to the sensor... K p..

No leaks that they could find. Replaced rear blinker light and cleaned out the a/c drain. So far, no more smell. We'll have to see how it does when it's wet and warmer, but the smell is gone for now!

Well, I don't think whatever the mechanic did fixed the problem. The smell is still there.

I found a .pdf online of the TSB related to this issue (2005566) and I've called my local stealership to see if they can perform the procedure. I'm at my wit's end here. If I can't get this smell resolved, I'll be looking for another car.

Ok, I know I'm chattin' with myself here, but this will be some good info for other people looking at this thread.

Called the stealership and they do not have the equipment to do the service recommended in this bulletin. What the fudge?

So, they have another approach they can take. Some product called MOC somethingorother. Run it through the A/C. That'll cost $235.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeah, I think I'll pass on that one.

ok ... I got my car back 2night & the dead rat smell is not coming from my ac anymore... The mechanic who i must say is a specialist in car a/c's told me that he opened up all the ac pipes & cleaned them inside out & found alot of stuff growing in there... Then he drained the system from all the water & actually custom made a pipe so that the water is always drained out rather than needing cleaning every once in a while since in dubai ac is required more than 11 months day and night .... After all that he applied some sort of gas inside 2 disinfect and the only thing that smells from my ac is a soapy kind of smell it cost me about 110$ and a one day job... So i hope urs get better as well... Next on my fix list is the stupid cryan smell that pisses me off... Im gonna have a detailing shop strip every single carpet and find the freaking source.... If u have any ideas plz share for a diy

What's weird is that I don't mind the crayon smell! LOL

I did the Klima Clean today. Very easy to apply - just shoot it into your A/C vents. For now, it smells better, but the real test will be to see how it does in the next 30 days. I bought a can of Lysol and I'll be spraying that up the intake in the passenger's side footwell with the a/c on "recirc" to see if that helps, too. I found someone on the Vortex who said that helped his problem.

Thanks for keeping me posted!

How much was it to have the heater core replaced?
