Default Please Help! The engine has very little power and shaking.

Hi, My girlfriend started her car yesterday and the engine is shaking. The car has very little power. I ran the codes and it has four codes: P0300(multiple Cyl misfire, P0301(Cyl misfire), P0302(Cyl 2 misfire) and P0303(Cyl 3 misfire). Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much!

Have the spark plugs/wires been changed at all?

Hi, I haven't changed the wires or plug yet. It all happen when the car started up, so i can't believe it would be the wires and plugs would all fail at the same time. I think one could fail but three of them. Thanks

sounds like the ignition system needs an overhaul.

get ngk plugs and wires (or nothing else, everything else, is in fact, junk), and install them.

check your injector cycles.

sounds like a tuneup, but could be fueling-related as well.

of course, the belt could have jumped a tooth...

This is really weird, I started her car today and everything is run fine. I took on a test drive and it is running normal. It was raining yesterday and I wonder if that had anythin to do with it.

Coil packs? They give intermittent as they start to go and moisture will make them do as you described as they are going.

Default Maybe A Loose Connection

I think that was all that was wrong with my 2005 beetle but I left if with the shop anyways thinking they would check it out. Now I realize that they just use the parts of a new customer to fix the previous customer's car.

Jiggle the electrical connections. I had just bottomed out when I hit a dip when my problems started.

This happened EXACTLY to my Mk3 Golf years ago. When the weather was Moist, it made the wires short thus starting Misfires in Cyl 1 and 3.

Came down to Wires, Spark Plugs, and Distributor Cap. Its rather odd it your beetle has 33K miles on it. but I'll put my bet down on that.

I would start with spark plugs.
