Default Can hitting the revlimiter put on a CEL?

Pretty much what the title says. I was in 1st and accidentally bounced it off the rev limiter. And the CEL came on.

The revlimiter gives you a misfire and a misfire can trigger the CEL so either it isn't quite clever enough to work out the ECU caused the misfire or else it flags the CEL to let you know whats going on or else take it to a dealer and get told off

I did a few google searches and thats what it seemed like. I've hit the rev limiter before without it coming on. I haven't noticed any performance or changes in how it runs.
